Meet our presenter: Rana Jordahl
After a career in advertising and graphic design, Rana Jordahl transitioned to fine art upon moving to Charleston in 2002. Since then, she has thrived as a full-time painter, developing a contemporary impressionist style characterized by thick, expressive brushstrokes.
Rana's Midwest upbringing and life in the Lowcountry inspire her to paint a variety of subjects, including blue herons, egrets, shrimp, cows, and chickens. She also enjoys creating still life arrangements and landscapes. "I love the endless possibilities—from a bird’s wings in flight to the motion of water," she says.
Her paintings, collected nationally, are featured in private and corporate collections. She is a Co-Owner of Lowcountry Artists Gallery and is represented by Gallery By SEWE in downtown Charleston. Rana lives on Daniel Island, where she has a dedicated studio space.
