CAG Book Club will meet August 24th at the Gibbes Museum of Art, 135 Meeting St. Let's meet at 1:30pm in the Gibbes gift shop to allow everyone time to visit the Monets on exhibit and to check out Mary Whyte's exhibit if you haven't already done so. Our CAG Book Club Discussion will be held in the conference room at 2:30pm. Price will be Gibbes admission price for non-Gibbes members. Our August book is Mad Enchantment: Claude Monet and the Painting of the Water Lilies by Ross King. We encourage you to read any other books about Monet that interest you as well.

Join us for our September Guild Meeting!
We're excited to welcome Stephen Cefalo as our guest speaker at the September meeting, held Tuesday, September 8th from 5:30–7:30pm at the Wando Mount Pleasant Library, 1400 Carolina Park Blvd, Mount Pleasant. Stephen is a contemporary figurative painter inspired by the Baroque, Surrealist, and Symbolist movements. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts (BFA Illustration) and Indiana University (MFA Painting), his work explores the human figure, dreamlike states, and symbolic storytelling through a blend of classical and contemporary approaches. He has taught at institutions including the College of Charleston, NC State, and the Art Academy of Cincinnati, and is represented by Bowersock Gallery in Provincetown, MA. His recent honors include the Boldbrush Award and Best in Show at the 2024 Piccolo Spoleto Juried Exhibition. In July 2026, Stephen opened Cefalo Gallery & Atelier, his own space for exhibiting and teaching traditional art in Charleston. We're looking forward to hearing him speak — hope to see you there!
